I used to think peace meant everything around me had finally calmed down. No conflict. No betrayal. No chaos. No one pushing my buttons. I was wrong. Peace is not something the world gives you. It is something you choose when the world gives you every reason not to. It is walking away from arguments you could win. It is refusing to explain yourself to people committed to misunderstanding you. It is letting people believe whatever version of the story helps them sleep at night. It is realizing that not every disrespect deserves a response, not every accusation deserves a defense, and not every person deserves access to your energy. That does not make you weak.
