#23: Axe Drop #0023 Title: COMING HOME AIN’T ALWAYS EASY

Coming home hits different when life has already been moving without you. You step back into familiar places, familiar voices, familiar blood… but everything feels a little older, a little heavier, a little more real. This trip wasn’t just about showing up. It was about feeling everything that comes with home. It was about family. About making peace with my sister. About setting down old weight that didn’t need to keep getting carried. It was about meeting a brother we never even knew we had. Blood you didn’t know existed. A connection that should’ve been there all along. And trying to wrap your head around how life can hide something that big for so long. That kind of moment does something to a man. It makes you think about time. About what was missed. About what still matters while we’re all still breathing. Coming home will do that. It will remind you of where you came from. Who’s still standing. Who still matters. And how much can change in one visit. But that’s the hard part too. Because no matter how meaningful it is… eventually you have to leave again. You have to pack it up. Say your goodbyes. Trade family for the road. Trade home for the place you stay because work says you have to. And that kind of leaving never gets easier. There’s a difference between where you live and where your people are. Sometimes home ain’t where you lay your head. Sometimes home is the place you have to drive away from. That’s the part people don’t talk about enough. You can be grateful for healing. Grateful for peace. Grateful for new family found. And still feel that ache when it’s time to go. That doesn’t make you weak. That makes you human. Sometimes coming home heals something in you. Sometimes leaving reminds you what still hurts.
